Design Checklists - Changing Rooms

Sport England have technical guidance available for changing rooms however this is not specific to school environments so you will need to select from it what is appropriate for your school. In general you should consider configuration of male and female changing rooms - can you build in flexibility for family use, all single sex team competitions, and changing for staff and officials? Consider buffer changing rooms, or smaller 'team/family' changing rooms, which can be either sex. It is important that you provide private changing and shower facilities and disabled toilets and changing. Separate toilets will provide more flexibility and allow spectators to use them without compromising child protection. You may wish to divide your changing into 'dry' and 'wet' for indoor and outdoor provision.
